'J he Administrator of Norfolk Island (Colonel A. J. Bennett) in his annual report says: "Residents are alarmed at the falling off of the tourist traffic, c-specially from Now Zealand, owing i to the withdrawal of the steamer Maui J Pomare. However, it is hoped to have j the service restored in part at least. J "Norfolk Island li as developed amaa- ! j"gl.Y during the last five years. The | imports have increased from £IB,OOO j to £(30,000 per year and the exports j from £6OOO to £35,000. Whereas there j was only one motor-car on the island j two years ago, there are now 100."
