PARTIES TO FEDERAL AWARDS. (liec-eived December Ist, 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, December I. Arising out of the recent application by the Railway Commissioners in the eastern States for the right to vary the employees' awards in order to institute emergency schemes of retrenchment, the High Court was asked by the- unions and the Federal Government to decide the question whether the State railway authorities could be made parties to Federal awards. The Court to-day decided in the affirmative.
