NEW SECRETARY FOR LABOUR SELECTED. (I'KITZP PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY SLXCTSXC TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT.) (Received November 30th, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, November 29. President Hoover has selected Mr William Doak, the Virginia legislative agent of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, to fill the post of Secretary of Labour, in view of the coming resignation of Senator E. Davis. Mr Hoover issued a stinging rebuke to Mr W. Green, president of the American Federation of Labour, who requested the selection of a member of that body. Mr Hoover stated that the ultimatum impelled him to maintain the principle of equal opportunity and to select Mr Doak, who was not a member.
