Mr Hugh Steyne has joined the Vanity Fair Revue Company at the Sydney Tivoti. The annual Critics* Dinner in London was graced by the presence of Miss Marie Nay, the Wellington actress, who was at the table of the editor of the London "Era." Mr George Gee, the well-known comedian, who was so popular in New Zealand (last in Christchurch with the "Primrose" pany), is to produce a farce in London, with Grizelda Harvey as his leading lady.

The Central Fire Brigade received a call at 1.22 p.m. on" Saturday to 3, Patten street, where a hedge had caught on fire. They had no difficulty in suppressing the outbreak.
