WALTHAM SCHOOL.
SATURDAY'S CARNIVAL. "With the object of raising funds for additional class-rooms and for other necessary alterations to the school buildings, a fete was held in the grounds of the Waltham School on Saturday aftornoon. It is hoped that the money collected will help to a great oxtcnt in bringing the achool up to date. It is now 56 years old, and improvements to the buildings and ground are much needed. Saturday's carnival, with food and produco blalljs, B ide shows, and other attractions, mado a substantial increase to the funds, and a king and queen competition among the standards also assisted in obtaining extra revenue. The fair was declared open by Mr H. T. Armstrong, M.P.' for the district, tho chairman of the Walthara School Committee, Mr J. J. Hurley, also spoke.
