SALE OF WORK.
ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH. I . The annual saie of work of St. Michael's ,Church, the proceeds of which are in aid of the day school, was opened, in the schoolroom yesterday afternoon by Dr. A. Sandstou. There was a very good attenddnCo, and it is anticipated tljat when the sale ends this evening a good sum will have been lised. A wide variety of goods was exposed for sale' On the varidils stalls, and there were also interesting competitions. The general conduct of the fair was in the hands of Mrs F. G. Gurnsey as president, and Miss G. as secretary. The various stalls were apportioned as follows:—Work stall,! Mrs. Gurnsey and the Ladies' Sewing Guild; produce, MesOjven, Lamportj and Whittington; cakes, Mrs A; Paul and Miss Holway; odds and ends, Mrs Blaekmore, Miss E. and -tho Mothers' Union; variety, Mesdames C.\E.'Jones, A. C. Sandstbn, Dfummoiidi Bailey; fancy, St. Agnes Guild; ewfeets, Mioses Percy, Gardener, and Upham; books, Mrs S. Lamport; ice-cream and soft drinks, MesdameS I. Warren and F. Matthews; Mrs Sanderson, Misses ,N. Guthrie, and N. Baker; flowers, Mrs Whitworth; amusements, St. Osmond's Guild. • Tho. sale-of work-is to be continued this afternoon and this evening.
