NORTH BEACH SURF CLUB.
A meeting of the North Beach Sutf Chib was told -last evening when Mr C. Riordan (club captain) presided over a small attend&Ece. A motion of sympathy waff passed with Mr E. A. M. Leader, & in the' loss of his wife. It was decided to' purchase a supply of costumeo for competition purposes. A letter was received from the New Brighton Borough Council inviting the dub to Dominato six members to act as beach inspectors. It was decided to nominate Messrs A» Brand, H. M. S. Dawson, G. Dew, C. Riordan, and L. R. Moore. A letter was received from the New Brighton Surf "Club, enclosing a report made to. that club by Mr Carl Cauldwell on the rew standard life-saving line. Mx H. M. S. Dawson was appointed delegate to the Canterbury Head Centre .of the Royal - Life-Saving Society. Messrs P. Thomson and F. Midgley and Miss G. A. Black were elected members of the club. A letter was received from the Canterbuiy Head -Centre in regard to increasing the award for. honorary instructor's certificate. It was decided; to: hold, the official open* ins: of the .club in December.
Messrs Brand and Riord»n were appointed a sub-committce to get the oun-bathing area repaired. ....
