DANCE. A 'lance, wirier the auspices of the Tleatlieoto Club was held in the Club Hnl!. when there was a good attendance, and an enjoyable evening was spent dancing to music supplied bv Lamport's Orchestra. A lucky spot waltz was won by Misses K. McLaren and I*. Pouls"!). Mr X. lingers played extras. Mr W. Wilson was M.C. The Gardens. The rain during the week-end will ■prove beneficial to gardens in the district, especially those with crops of peas and potatoes, which are now being marketed in fair quantities. As a result of the storm the early cherries, which were beginning to ripen, were severely damaged.
