NEW CITY HOTEL.
- • REMOVAL OF LICENSE. At a meeting of" the Chrfetchurph Licensing Committee, .held• yesterday,. an application was receired' from the. proprietor of the Now City Hotel, at the corner of Colombo and Bath streets, f.t a change of name from the City Hotel, formerly at the Corner of High street an J Colombo -street-, .and for a. removal »f the license. . Members of the committee present were Messrs H. A,. Young, S.M. (chairman), \\ . Dobb.sj H. li. Holland, (.«. 10. I'ranklin, and i'L. H. Wauchop. Inspector A. Cameron represented tho police and Mr C: A. Stringer appeared lor the hotel proprietor, .Mr W. J. lilake." Jnspqctor Cameron said that . the. police had no objection to tlie granting of the applications as the building was a credit to the' architect and to tho licensee,. Mr-Young also expressed his approval of the building and of its general lay" out. . v. The removal .of the liconse was granted, and the change of name from the City Hotel to tho New City' Hotel was approved.
