AVONDALE CLUB. An "open" day next Sunday will mark tho close of tho season's official programme at Avondale. Tho principal event in thfe morning will be a mixed foursome, to which golfer* from other clubs are cordially invited. There will also be driving, putting, and other competitions which will also be open to visitors. Poet entries will be accepted' • During the week-end, in view of the official closing taking place next week, a number of important events wero completed. K. C. Ward won the club championship from O; Anderson, who was junior champion last year, 11 up and 9 over 36 holes. The medal aggregate cup for the test aggregate net scores from official nledal matches during the season resulted in a tie between O. Anderr Sen and W. R. Smith. In the play-off, W. E. Smith won, returning a particularly good card of 82^-14—68. The of the members cup, over 36 holes, between N. V. Smith (12) and O. Andersen (9) was won by th* latter 3 up and si. Some very good golf was produced in all of these matches, and as a result the handicaps of the players mentioned Have now been reduced as follows:—K. C. Ward, 3 to scr; O. Andersen, 9 to 4; N. V.
