PIONEER SPORTS CLUB.
POSSIBILITY OF LIGHT CAR EVENTS. To suggest events for which light Car owners coulcl enter, a special committee of the Pioneer Sports Club met last evening. The decisions of the committee are to go forward to the Motor Section of the club, asking that light cars be allowed to enter for events which are at present for motor-cycles only. The chairman, Mr W. F. Marsh, said that the time was undoubtedly coming when light car owners would demand sporting events for which they could enter. Many owners of light cars had been motor-cyclists, and sporting trial? would certainly attract entries from them. It was decided to hold a gymkhana early in the New Year. It was also decided to ask the Motor Section to allow light cars to enter for two events in the next beach races over a two-mile course, for the two-day trial to be held next year, and for a grass hill-climbing contest. The meeting decided that not more than one event in each month should be held.
There were present:—-Messrs W. F. Marsh (in the chair), D. C. Crozier, J. Tench, C. Hayward, H. H. Payne, and E. S. Velvin.
