BEACH PATROLS
At last night's meeting of the New Brighton Borough Council, the Mayor (Mr J. H. Shaw) and Cr. G. WBishop were appointed to represent the Council at the conference to be held shortly to discuss the question of providing beach patrols during the summer. The Mayor said that with the cooperation of Sumner and the local surf clubs, he was confident that ways and means of maintaining properly qualified patrolmen would be found. Besides providing a necessity, the presence of patrolmen on the beaches would do much to popularise Sumner and New Brighton.
