meeting of directors. monthly meeting of tho Board ?. Directors of tho Christchurch i.M.C.A. was held la«t night, there bemg present Messrs J. W. Hillary S. W Gosg, J. 1. Itoyds, W. Borrows, K. G. Archer, F. H. oandall, A. M. West, and the general Mr A. J. McEldowney. Tha general secretary reported that arrangements had been made to say farewell to Mr C. E. Rush on the evening of Monaay, December Ist. The actjng general secretary. Mr U. R. Ituss, in his report, mentioned that ail the summer activities were going m full swing, and that the orchestra were still having splendid attendances at their practices. The physical director. Mr C. G. Pegs;, stated that the summer programme was well under way and that the Tennis Club was having a very successful season.
The general gymnasium competitions were held during October, and were by far the most successful during the past three years. The plans for the Christmas totir of the King Country wore completed, and over twenty had already signified that they were taking? part. It was reported that the profit from the physical display was approximately £46.
In his report, the boyn' work director reported that the attendances at All cjiib meetings were most satisfactory right up to the closing night, and that the games championships were ereating a £reat deal of keenness. over 460 entries being recorded, A great deal of interest was being taken in the preparation for the sumnor camp, and many enquiries were being made. Provision was also being arranged for the admission of a number of hoys whose parents could not otherwise afford to irive them a holiday.
