FREEMASONRY.
ANNUAL COMMUNICATION TO-MORROW. The Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of New Zealand, which is being held in Christchurch this year, will open to-morrow morning. About 350 members are expected to attend, and the majority of those from other centres will arrive K'-i'e to-day. Except for those who have made other arrangements, the visitors will stay at the Clarendon Hotel.
Various delegates from the south arrived in Cliristcliurch last evening. Amongst these waa the retiring Grand Master, Mr J. J. "Clark, and the President of the Board of Benevolence, Mr 8. Jj\ ilridgecnan (Dunedin). l'he Grand Secretary. Colonel George I3;vri lay, who is in charge of the arrangoments for the Communication, has air i«ady taken up his residence :ii church. His headquarters are at y6 Gloucester street, where Grand Lodge business will be conducted for the next two years. The most important item on tomorrow's programme will be the installation of the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, as Grand Master for New Zealand for the ensuing year. This will take place in the evening, and the ceremony will be performed by the retiring Grand Master, Mr J. J. Clark. Afterwards Mr J H. Harkness ("VVestport) will be installed as Pro-Grand Master, and Mr O. H. Moller, of Dunedin, as Deputy-Grand Master. To-morrow morning the delegates will be concerned with business matters.
