VENDORS' LICENCE FEE INCREASED. laboratory to be SET LP. Dairymen of Ohristchureh are now free to go ahead with a scheme to improve their own milk supply, as the resalt of a new by-law adopted by the City Council last night. A laboratory is to be set up to test the milk, and towards the cost of this the licence fees will go, the by-law increasing them from 5s a year to 255. Any milkman ■will be able to send milk for testing, while & Couneil inspector will take samples from vendors' supplies each day. Should the milkman refuse, the inspect6r is empowered to take the sample and pay for it. "The Milk Committee is negotiating with the Technical College authorities to make provision whereby the College will test or analyse samples of milk submitted to it," reported the By-laws and Finance Committee. Samples to bo Taken. "These samples will bo daily obtained by an inspector, to be appointed by tie Council, and will be taken in colsidcrable numbers from various rctailers of milk in the City..
