The president, T)r. Schnee, who was tli'! last Governor of German East Africa, presiding at a meeting of protest against the proposed incorporation of East Africa in the British Empire, declared: "Britain will realise her war aim and seize the German colonies as war booty. She has only obtained mandates now; but she hopes to accomplish the practical annexation of East Africa by uniting the territory with her adjoining possessions. Though satiated with colonies, she aims thus to form a colonial state twice tho size of German}', nnd acquire vast possibilities of exploitation."
