All sorts of means of transport are now used by campers, but a unique means of conveying camping outfit was observed between Parnassus and Oaro, when two ladies and a man wore seen to be pushing an outfit up of bicycle wheels, with a box attached. One lady was harnessed with ropes and pulling, the other was taking a spell riding on the box, and the man was. pushing. The outfit caused a good deal of curiosity. The recent rain caused a suspension of shearing operations. CULVERDEN. There was considerable interest when the Culverden school baths were officially opened. Many visitors took advantage of the opportunity to havo thoir first swim of the season, and the school committee and rill who helped in any way towards the bath were well rewarded for their efforts in establishing the baths. The first and second rounds ure practically completed, and it is hoped that the competition will be decided before Christmas. Shearing has commenced in earnest in the district.
