FETE AT ST. ALBANS.
The fete to raise funds for the building of a swimming bath in St. Albans, on the site given by the City Council, was continued last evening. Further pulls in the tug-of-war competition were held, the results being:— Catch-weight—Graham and Sons beat Williamson's' by five inches. Middle-weight—Mead (Rakaia) beat Williamson's by four and a half inches; Davis Gelatine beat Graham and Sons by eight and a half inches; Naval Reserve beat Were's by three inches; Mead (Rakaia) beat Davis Gelatine by nine inches; Lyttelton beat Graham and Sons by five and a half inches; Davis Gelatine beat Williamson's by six inches. Lightweight—Shannon (Baliaia) boat Naval Reserve by four inches; Davis Gelatie beat Williamson's by seven inches; Shannon (B&kaia) beat Hardie and* Thomson (No. 1 team) by five inches; Hardie and Thomson (No. 1 team) beat Hardie and Thomson (No. 2 team) by four inches. The draw for to-night is:— Catch-weight—Lyttelton v. Naval Reserve, looser v. Graham and Sons. Middle-weight—Lyttelton v. Davis Gelatinej Naval Reserve a bye. Light-weight—Davis Gelatine v. Hardie and Thomson (No. 1 team) ; Naval Reserve a bye. Palls will be taken in the above order.
