"THE BELLE OF NEW YORK"
END OF THE SEASON.
The final performance of "The Belle of New York" at the Theatre Royal last night brought to an end a most successful season of "The New Moon" musical comedy company in Christchurch. Enthusiasm has marked tho return o musical comedy. Patrons of the theatre. have enjoyed the change, and hope that more is to follow. After having introduced Ihe New Moon" to Christchurch, the company wisely revived one of the most tuneful musical plays ever written The theatre was full last night. As the final chorus was given and the "belle" smiled d <£ ,n on to the audience for the last time, thund rous applause came from a » B ' des house. Bouquets and chocolates were nanaea round, but there were no speeches.
