CANON J. R. WILFORD.

VISIT TO ENGLAND. Canon J. It. Wilford, Principal of College House, and Mrs Wilford will leave on Wednesday next for England, where they will spend the year 1931, returning to Christchurch early in to resume residence at College House. At Thursday's meeting of the Christ's College Board of Governors Canon Wilford was granted a year's leave of absence. Next year Dean J. A. Julius will go into residence at the House as ActingPrincipal, while further arrangements

will bo made for carrying on theological lectures. Canon and Mrs Wilford will sail from Wellington on Thursday. The primary object of their trip is to visit their son, Mr Forbes Wilford, who is at Sandhurst Military College. At a gathering at the House recently, Canon Wilford was presented by Mr M. C. Lysons, head of the House, with an autographed photograph of Housemen, a book of views of the House, and a pipe. Mrs Wilford received a travelling cushion.
