BICYCLE THEFTS.
TO TIIE EDITOR Or TUB TUESS Sir, —I read in your issue of to-day a letter under the heading of "Bicycle Thefts." What an imagination your correspondent has. Why have registration, large number-plates, conspicuously different colourings in enamel finishings of motor-cars, not put a stop to the stealing and conversion of those machines which are hugo in size in comparison to tho bicycle? Why put the l'ather to tho extra expense of registering the bicycle and supplying num-ber-plates and still paying the 30s per year towards the Unemployment Fund? Why not be more ridiculous (if possible) and suggest having number-plates etc., on scooters, perambulators, and clothes-lines, when clothes are left out all night, and during the absence of the owner, over tho fence having afternoon tea. It is about time this senseless habit of expecting someone else to look after our property nnd our bodies was stopped.—Yours, etc., ANYBODY'S BICYCLE. Rangiora, November 21st, 1930.
