MURDER OF WOMAN.

CRIME AT MELBOURNE. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received November 21st, 11 p.m.) MELBOURNE. November 21.. Mary Dean, aged' 25, a school teacher, died early this morning From a fractured skull and shocking internal injuries. The police believe that it is a case of- brutal murder, overshadowing the Meiia Griffiths crime. The dead woman was found in a lane at the lilwood suburb. It was first thought that she had been outraged, but a post-mortem examination to-day did not substantiate this theory. There' were extensive fractures of the skull, and evidence of an attempt to strangle her, apart from internal injuries. She attended a theatre party last night. She possessed considerable literary gifts.
