TRIBUTE TO PORTUGUESE. (HHITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) (Received November 21st, 10 p.m.) RUGBY, November 20.*. The reports of the wreck of the : new British motor-ship Highland Hope state that despite the difficulties caused by the darkness and the fog> perfect order was maintained, and tho 374 passengers, including a large proportion of migrants bound for. South America, were placed in the lifeboats arid sent away with a minimum of confusion.
High tributes are paid to the splendid behaviour of the Portuguese oarsmen, who towed the ship's boats to safety. . ■ln (Other- ways..assistance was. readily forthcoming from the residents in. .the locality. [The Highland Hope ran ashore on the Farilhoes Islands, near Lisbon, in Portugal.]
