A verv telling was given to the Irish Battle M, J '"Tho Cruiskeen Lawn" and Macdowell's "Cradle Song," kept in °t ''V 3 Pl, 8 1 ' ims," the Choir well oxi implied, coniPu, tl ! e choral sections. The# the Cathedral Choristers had a good in.Hoist's "O England My Country with Master Philip Wright as soloist, and Parry's "You'll Get Inere. With Mr R. S. H. Buchanan's effective, robust voice as soloist, terry s "Bound for tho Rio Grande" ri 11 * 16 one their best periormnnces. I art two brought Pearsall'y ''When A hen-n-I>ale Went Hunting," and Klgar s beautiful cart-song "As Torrents in Summer" at tho start, and then presented herself for the second time Madame Winnie Fraser, to rouse great enthusiasm with her group of three songs, of which that grand song "The Dreary StepT*e." and Currnn's led to a really triumphant display of power and beauty, maintained in the ' Vesper Hymn." Very charmingly was given the lovely Welsh Air "All Through the Night." Mozart's is a rare name nowadays 011 programmes, but the spirited air, chosen from "The Marriage of Fignro," made with R. Lake's racy sinking, a, very conspicuous and enjoyable number, amply justifying his recall. Once more the Cathedral Choristers were their own, and Charles Wood's "Trees." with Master W. Sharp's voice standing out remarkably well, and the same author's "Song of the Sea" proved their solid training. Three appealing part songs by Schubert. CThwatul. and -Vbt made a delectable finish, very jollily with the "Laughing Song's" merry strains twice sung.

Most of the burden of accompaniments fell upon Miss Aileen Warren, who neon it ted herself very well, and under praiseworthy restraint, as all accompaniments should.
