The Lord Mayor's' Show, one of the oldest of London's civic pageants, was held to-day, when the new Lord Mayor, Sir William Phene Neal. rode through the city in the famous gilt coach, the centre figure in the procession of civil dignitaries, soldiers, scouts, bands, and representatives of city companies. Thia year the procession took the form of a Pageant of Empire, and included four elephants, carrying howdahs, representing a Mohammedan building and a Hindu temple, signifying India; and special displays representing Canada, this including mounted Rod Indians; Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, the Irißh Free State, an<} Newfoundland Great crowds watched the progress 'rom the Guildhall to the Law Courts.
