ECONOMY MEASURES.
NEW SOUTH WALES LEGISLATION. (united press association —b? tslectjmc TEtEOEAPH —COPTBIOHT.) (Received June 18tb, 7 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 17. The New South Wales State Governor has assented to the economy Bills, which were passed by Parliament after strenuous opposition in the Assembly. These increase the working hours from 44 to 48 per week, so aft to permit of the rationing of employment. They also authorise a- reduction of salaries in ihe Public Service, and the imposition of an unemployment tax of 3d in £1 on all earnings. The reorganisation of the Government relief administration is also provided for. The measures will come into operation on July Ist.
