A partv from Invercargill who recently visited Sandy Point Domain for a day's shooting were surprised to find a scarcity of rabbits where they used literally to swarm. As a matter Of fact it was here the first rabbits were liberated in Southland, the idea being to provide sport for visitorsIn a tew vears the whole landscape was honeycombed with burrows ana the released sandy subsoils converted good gracing country into a waste. The remarkable diminution appaiv antl- due to stoats and weasels which were seen in large numbers, and three rabbits were sighted during the day.
