Ihe Maoris took the speciment to a New Plymouth chemist for analysis. The chemist stated that the material waa undoubtedly ambergris. Hie has from time to time handled eewrel parcels pf this valuable product. Early this year a piece of ambergris weighing about llb r was analysed for a Maori Tinder, and was sent to England to be sold.
