Y.M.C.A. DEBATING CLUB.

There was a good attendance at the Y.M.C.A. Debating Club last night, when members took part in impromptu speeches. A variety of subjects taxed the versatility and general knowledge of the speakers. Mr A. A. G. Eeed, the judge, expressed satisfaction with the standard of the speeches and placed Mr J. Lister first and Mr A. Worley second. Next week the club will debate with the Philomath Club on the question of the time payment system.
