ELECTRIC POWER BOARD.
NORTH CANTERBURY. The monthly meeting of the North Canterbury Electric Power Board was held yesterday. Present: Messrs H. Tallott (chair' man), A. M. Carpenter, D. R. Hutchinson, L. B. Evans J Fitzpstrick, and J. D. Wyllie. Mr J. R. Templin was also present The application of Mr W. T. Wright to have his guarantee cancelled on account of having sold his property was granted. The offer of Messrs Rosenfeld and Go. was accepted for the supply of 200 poles, and the engineer-secretary was authorised to purchase a further 400 poles when required. The chairman and Messrs Carpenter ana Evans were appointed to devise a sales policy. The chairman was appointed to represent the Board at tbe conference of Power Boards in Wellington on July 17th. The engineer waß instructed to draft a remit regarding a reduction in the maximum charges for current. „ .. The engineer-secretary (Mr A. Buckingham) reported in detail on tbe work carried out during the past month- Ha also reported on investigations made concerning the proposed line for the Walpara river extension. The reports were adopted. Mr J- 0. Bancox, outside superintendent, reported, that 10 new consumers had ' connected up, 14 extensions had been made, 5 ranges, 5 water' heaters, and 5 motors bad been connected during the month. The financial statement showed receipts for the month to have been £1173 16s lid in the loan account, and £4645 9s 7d in the power account. These was a credit in the loan account of £7047 |s 7d, and in the power ora were the winners by 6 games to 2. The amount outstanding for ■ current is £2OBI Jto M.
