RANGIORA MARKET. There was again a very poor market ttt Rangiora yesterday, the entry consisting of 893 sheep, IS head of cattle, and S pigs; The aheap vales included 68 fat lambs at 20s Bd, 10 fat ewes at 16s Id, 11 at 13s 7d, 9 at lis 6d, 59 wethers at 20s to 21s, and 13 lambs at 14b. The passings totalled 319. The cattle sold wore a springer at £lO 15b, 2 springing heifers at £0 10s, 2 at £B, 1 at £7 17s Od, and 1 at £7. Three store pigs made 38s each, and weaners 18s to 17s 6d. Poultry—Boosters brought 8s 6d a pair, bens 4s 6d, pullets 8s 6d, and ducks <i. Produce sold at prices on a par with last week's quotations. Skins, ate. —Halfbred sheepskins realised 6s, crossbred ss, hogget 4s, pelts Is to la 6d, calfskins 4s 6d, wool 5d lb, crutchings SJd, hides 4d, fat 1 id, and horsehair Is 3d.
TINWALD STOCK SALE.
Mainly owing to the closing down of the Fairfield Freezing Works for the seasoa last Saturday, there was an exceptionally large yarding of fat and forward ewes and wethers at the Tlawald stock sale yesterday, when prices were about the same as those ruling during the past few weeks. Local butchers competed keenly-for prime lines. The yarding comprised approximately 560 fat lambs,. 1024 fat ewes, 822 fat wethers, and 480 stores. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TBLEOJUK.) INVEKCABGILL, Jwxe 17. • There were decreased yardings in all sections at the weekly etock sale, which opened in cold and wet weather this morning. As was anticipated, a Blight improvement wao noted in practically all sections, and value* came into lino with those ruling at the chief northern centres during the last week or. bo. Prime fat sheep showed an improvement of about 35." per head, while lambs realised quite up to last week's prices. A few pens of fat cattle at the latter end of the sale realised enhanced values. Fat Cattle—ln epite of the short yarding, values did not show, any appreciable rise on last week'® sale. Good quality ox beef eold at 40a per 1001b. Quite a number of wellfinishod medium-weight bullocks, were forward, also a proportion of good quality heifers. Extra heavy prime bullocks brought up to £l7, heavy prune bullocks £l4, and lighter sorts £9 10s to £l2 10s. Good heifers brought up to £l3 with lighter sorts up to £lO. Good heavy cows eold at around £lO, medium-weights £8 to £9, and lighter sorte down to £6. Fat Sheep—ln a email yarding of fat sheep, the bulk consisted of fat ewes. There were quite a few pens of good quality which make belter pricea than have been realised for some time. A pen of heavy extra prime ewes brought 225. Medium-weight butchers' ewes made 17s to? 18a, and lighter sorts down to !2s. The top price for • wethew was 88s for an extra prime lot. Prime sorts made 96s to 275, and medium and light down to 235. Best lambs made up to 255, the yarding being small. Store Cattle—There was a very small yarding of etore- cattle comprising empty cows and a few small calves. The demand was not very brisk. Fresh-conditioned empty oows made £i 15s to £5 7s 6d, and aged and inferior down to £2 10b. Small and inferior calves ■ sold, at 10s to £l. Store Sheep—There was a fair yarding in the store sheep section, and this demand was about, on a par with recent sales. There woe a special entry of two, four, six. and eight-tooth ewes, of good ouality, which realised as tooth &is Bd, six and eight-tooth 225. A small line of medium hoggets brought 13s 6d, while a pen of good full and failingmouth ewes sold at l4s, 4d.
