NIGHT OF STORM.
SETTLERS FEAR FLOODS. ACCIDENT TO EXPRESS TRAIN. (ttnited rasss association—bv electric TELEGRAPH —COPIBIOHT.) (Received Juno 17th, 7 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 17. A tempestuous night, with torrential rain in the coastal districts, and also inland, caused people in many centres, especially in the north, to fear floods. Numbers of people removed their household belongings to higher quarters. Tho Kempsey express train, carrying a large number of passengers, had just emerged from a tunnel near the Hawkesbury river, when the locomotive struck a mass of fallen rock and earth, and left the rails. The following coach was damaged, but the occupants were not hurt. The services were partially dislocated for three hourß.
