FRUIT BARROW LICENSE FEES.
TO THE EDITOB 01' THB PBE33. Sir,—Whilst not criticising the Council's decision on this matter, I suggest that the fees charged be not less than the Council issue by way of rates from a retail shop of average dimensions in the locality in which the barrows are licensed to. trade. That is to say, if a barrow trades in the busiest central area,-the minimum fee should be £75 per year, in the area adjacent, say, £25 per year, and in the suburbs, say, .€lO per year. It seems but fair that the Council receive from the barrowmen not less than it receives from shops in the same locality. If more can be obtained so much the better.— Your9 ' etc - : ■ rates;
