CANTERBURY'S BIRTHDAY.
PILGRIMS' CELEBRATION.
Friday, December lGth, will be the seventy-seventh anniversary of tho founding of the Province of Canterbury. The Pilgrims' Association will hold its annual commemorative celebrations on Saturday and Sunday, December 17th and 18th. On the Saturday afternoon, there will be a garden party at "Middleton Grange,"' the old residence of Sir Charles Bowen, which has been kindly lent for the occasion by Colonel and Mrs John Studholmc.
On Sunday morning, the pilgrims will attend a special service at the Cathedral. The preacher will be tho Rev. Otto Fitzgerald, son of the first Superintendent of Canterbury. In the evenincr a special Pilgrims' Service will be held in Holv Trinity Church, Lyttelton, at which the preacher will be the Rer. Mr Petrie.
