LYTTELTON PLUNKET SOCIETY

Mrs B. H. Gilmour (president) occupied the thair at the usual monthly meeting of the Lyttelton branch of the Plunket Society, when matters of routine were dealt with. The president reported that as the afternoon set for f, Mothercraft Talk" in November had been very wet, arrangements were put in hand to hold the December talk, which is the final one earlier than usual. The gathering took place on the 6th, when Nurse Twentyman gave a very instructive address to mothers on the subject of "Summer Diarrhoea." A letter was received from the Christohufch committee stating that Sir Truby King was lecturing in the Crystal Palace Theatre at an early date, and requesting that all interested in child welfare should attend. It was reported that the Christmas dinner competition was well in hand, and sujgestad that arrangements be made for a jumble sale towards tha end of February. . Nurse Twentyman s report for tho month was as follows -.—Lyttelton: Visits to rooms, adults 93, babies 78, older children 16, new cases 4. Visits to homes: 86 (new cases 21, old cases 65). The health of the babies and young children has been good. Akaroa and Duvauchelle Bay (three visits only during the month): Visits to rooms: Adults 31, babies 27. older children 9, visits to homes 4, advice by telephone 12.
