ASSAILANT HIDES IN COFFIN

ODESSA, December 6.
The body of a rich Ural landowner was placed in a church and watched throughout the night by a priest and choir boy. , . ' When the church was opened in the morning tho boy was found unconscious and the priest strangled. The boy declared that the corpse rose up at midnight and seized the priest The boy collapsed and saw no more. The police found that the corpse was still in the coffin and suspected a local undesirable, who, when arrested, confessed He declared that the priest had refused to pay five roubles which he had borrowed, and he (the. arrested man) hid; in the church, took the corpse's place in the coffin, and murdered the priest.
