LIFE-SAVING.
CANTERBURY CENTRE MEETS. A meeting of the Canterbury Centre of tlie Royal Life-Saving Society was held last night, Mr S. K. Bassett presiding over a fair attendances of members. A letter was received from the master in charge of swimming at St. Andrew's College suggesting the Society send an instructor to the college once a week. It was decided to hold, the matter over owing to the lateness of the season. The North Beach Surf and Life-Saving Club advised that Mr L. Bill had been appointed as its delegate to the Centre. A remit was roceived from the Royal LifeSaving Society, London, advising that a costume diploma badge had been forwarded to Mr Jack Breward.
The Canterbury Surf and Life-Saving Association wrote stating the Association had accepted the offer to tako control of the surf award, and would endeavour to have the number of awards considerably increased. Examination Results. The following school plaits passed the Royal Life-Saving Society's examinations for awards:—Teacher's certificate: .Phyllis M.
