ST. GEORGE'S HOSPITAL
EXECUTIVE MEETS. The executive of St. George's Hospital met yesterday afternoon, when there were present: —Mr George Gould (chairman), Canon Wilford, Commander Boyle, and Messrs J. A. Fleming. T. D. Harman, S. McMurray, A. K. Hadiield. R. J. G. Collins, and L. E. Haines.
The chairman said that a deposit of £5200 had been arranged for with the bank and there was a credit balance of about £'2so. Up to the present about £SOOO of their credit had been used up of the total amount of £12,000, leaving still some £7OOO to go. "1 see nothing to despair about concerning our finances," commented the chairman, "They are all right." In answer to a question, Canon Wilford said that nearly all the promised amounts had been paid. Canon Wilford reported that the women were desirous to hold a Christmas fair on December 23rd. It was also desired that the hospital be thrown open to the public on Sunday next with a new to raising funds. Three sisters were expected to arrive on December 23rd and a committee of ladies had been set up to provision the community house and arrange a welcome. The report was approved. The report of the Works Committee, which recommended that certain work, should be undertaken at once by electricians, and other urgent work done, was adopted. It was reported that the following donations had been received:—St. Augustine Masonic Lodge No. 4, £100; Benth and Co , Ltd.. £5 os; Dr. Sandstori, £5; Mr Cracroft Wilson. £.50: balance from St. George's Hospital dance, £l6.
