WOMAN DROWNED.
CAR PLUNGES INTO RIVER.

DUNEDIN, December 7.
A fatal motoring accident occurred at the Taicri ferry bridge at 10.30 this morning, resulting in the death of the driver, Mrs Frank Stoans, of 35 Albert street Gladstone, InvercargiH- Mrs Steans with her husband and sigter-in-law, was returning from a vjsit to Christchurgh in a sedan car, and failed to negotiate the turn at the bridge. The car crossed fronj its correct side, first colliding with a car driven by Mr Eandel John Montgomery, of Lawrence, which wa? approaching from the oppo* site direction. . Mrs Steans's car plunged into the Taieri river, and Mr Steana was unable to extricate his wife, who was drowned.
