£1298 DAMAGES.

FOR LOSS OF LEG. (miss ABSOCIATIOK TZLEGRAK.) NEW PLYMOUTH, December 7. The full damages claimed, £1298, were awarded Thomas McLeod White in the Supreme Court to-day. White was riding pillion on- his brother s motor-cycle when tbey collided with tho Takapuna Company's bus near Waitara. Plaintiff's leg was smashed and had to be amputated. A peculiar position arose when it was discovered that one juryman' was a member of a firm acting as booking agent for the bus company. _ The Court, on counsel's objection, dismissed the juryman and the case prooeeOed before a panel of eleven.
