PASSERS-BY.
"SHOT" BY THE CAMERA.
THE WEEK'S PICTORIAL RECORD.
Snapshots of passers-by in the City streets always make a popular feature when the "Weekly Press" reproduces them, and those contained in to-day's issue are particularly bright and interesting. Christchurch people also figure prominently in the pictures describing the visit of Mr and Mrs Amery. Another aspect of- Christchurch is shown in a series of iviews obtained at the Botanic Gardens, where beautiful flowers just now are making n glorious display. The "Weekly Press," however, goes far afield in its search for illustrar tions, • photographers in every part of the Dominion and the leading overseas services all helping to supply the vaiied pictures that are so warmly welcomed by readers of the popular family magazine. This week Auckland has contributed a particularly striking collection of views takon at a sports meeting for girls; some of Wellington's life-saving teams arc shown in action; the convocation of the Masonic Grand Lodge at Christchurch is recalled by a remarkable group picture ■of delegates and visitors; an exoursion to Stewart Island by the Bluff Harbour Board's new motor vessel is depicted. Among 1/he examples of pictorial photography there are some beautiful views from Lake Tanpo, and photographs obtained during the call of an overseas liner at Pitcairn Island possess the charm °f novelty. The "Weekly Press" will bo issued first thing this morning.
