THE NAVY LEAGUE.
♦ The Navy League annual appe&l for funds to enable it 3 educational and patriotio work to be carried on in its entirety will conclude at the end of the week. Miniature white ensigns, the flag of the Boyal Navy, will be sold in the City streets on Friday next,' for which many helpers are required. On the following day a garden fete and water carnival will bo held in Mrs P. J. Overton's grounds at 39 Fendalton xoad, at which there will be many attractions, amongst them being picturesque dances and items in elocution and nlime in beautiful surroundings. There will alao be decorated boots, sailing and rowing trips on the lake, a lawn tennis tournament, for which entries are now being received, an orchestra, and a floor for danclnS' The stalls for tne sale of articles and commodities of every description will bo fully stocked. Children will also be provided
