WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, December 6
The Wellington Boxing Association this morning signed up Johnny Leckie, the New Zealand feather-weight champion, and Tommy Griffiths, for a match each against Billy McAlister, the Australian bantamweight champion, and contender for thß feather title there. Should McAlister win tho featherweight championship of Australia in the meantime, the Australasian championship may be staged between him and Leckie. Grifliths stated that he would be able to make Bst 61b, the bantam limit, so that the contest at that poundage would involve the Australasian supremacy, if not the title.
PURDY'S WIN. (B* CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION— COrXRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z CABLE ASSOCIATION) SYDNIIV, December 6. In bis fight with Miller, Purdy (New Zealand) had the better o£ matters from the Btart, easily evading Miller's wild swings and scoring frequently with lefts to the face. Purdy clinched frequently and was once cautioned by the referee, but scored the greater number of points.
