In the Sheffield Shield match South Australia in, their second innings made 159 (Harris 61, Johnson 27, Richardson 25). Morton took three wickets for 47 runs, Ironmonger two for 52, and Blackie four for 45.
Victoria won by an innings and 310 runs.
The weather was fine and the wicket wore well, but it was tricky. Johnson added only a couple to his overnight score when Morton found his wicket. Harris, who played correct, stylish cricket, with Richardson, carried the total to 115 for two wickets. After that the wickets fell fast, the bowlers having complete mastery of the game. [On Saturday Victoria declared after making C 46 for eight wickets. On Monday South Australia made 117 in their first innings, and in the follow on had lost no wickets for 54.]
BOYS' ASSOCIATION. Neit Saturday the Canterbury Boys' Cricket Association is to continue its knockout competition, the following being the draw:—
