BALL AT TEMPLETON.
Carnival spirit reigned at the Templeton Hall on Thursday evening when the Templeton branch of the 1.0.0.t'., Ko. 3il, held a successful ball in aid o£ the management funds. There was a good attendance, including several members from Loyal Jubilee Lodge of Oddfellows. Prebbleton, and the Washington 1.0.0. F., Christchurch, whilst the Ancient Order of Foresters and tho Druids' Order were also represented. The hall was decorated with red, yellow, and blue streamers, draped across the hall, and the stage 'was decorated with evergreens and streamers. The music was supplied by Fred Smith's Marimba Band, who had to respond to frequent encores, and extras were supplied by Mrs K. Hammond and Mr 0. Denneliy. The duties' of M.C.'s were carried out* by Bros. J. G. Carter and G. Drayton. Several novelty dances were held, and the distribution of paper hats and streamers added to the gaiety of the occasion. A lucky-spot waltz was won by Miss Myrtle Hampton and Mr 0. Jeffs, and a Monte Carlo waltz by Miss E. Humphries and Mr Boswell. Amongst the number present were: Mesdames W. R. Clough, N.
