FALSE PRETENCES
(Pf.SSS ASSOCIATION- TSLECEAU.) AUCKLAND, December o. In the Magistrate's Court. James Stewart Grogan pleaded guilty to 137 charges of having obtained a total of £79 19s 2d by false pretences, and to two charges of theft. He was sentenced to six months' imprisonment, followed by eighteen months' reformative detention.
One offence was committed while accused was employed by the Dominion Art Company as* a canvasser.
