Personal Items.
Messrs P. Boyle (Sydney) and A. T. Houlston (Wellington) are at the United Service Hotel. The Rev. J. R. Young, who lias been Vicar at Ross, on the West Coast, since 1923, has been appointed to the parish of Hawcra. Mr F. S. Shell, at present Child Welfare Officer at Wellington, has been appointed Rector of St. Saviour's Boys' Home, Timaru. Guests at Warner's Hotel include Messrs A. V. Shorter (Wellington) T. Baenziger (Melbourne), T. Jenkins (West Coast), and I. G. Deyno (San Francisco). The Chri&tchurch Clerical Society has sent an expression of congratulation and pleasure at his appointment as Archdeacon of Timaru to the Rev. Harold Purchas. The office has hitherto been held by the Vicar of Timaru- and is now separated for the first time.
