S.I. POULTRY ASSOCIATION
Tho Executive Council of the South Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association held its monthly- meeting in the Ohristchurch Poultry Club's rooms on Saturday night. Mr 0. K. Jeffreys, the president, presided over a full attendance of Councillors. Correspondence was received from the Ohristchurch Canary Club and the N.Z. Utility Poultry Olub applying for championships for their young bird shows, end the letters were held over for consideration at (he annual conference to be hold in Timaru on Thursday, December Bth. The Hokitika Club advised that Mr F. Dacre would be their delegate at Timaru during the conference. The North Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association wrote to the effect that they intended issuing a canary standard for NewZealand of Yorkshire and Norwich canaries, and they asked for support from the South Island in helping to make the standard operate throughout both Islands. The secretary (Mr Pearce) explained to the Council that the plates had come to hand, and would be submitted to the delegates next Thursday for their approval. The Council nade final arrangements for the annual conference. The question as to where the 1028 annual meeting is to be held was left for the delegates to decide, with a recommendation that Jnvercargil! be given consideration, the opinion being held by Councillors that It was in the best interests, of the Association that the annual conferences be held if possible in different parts of the South Island.
