Some comment has been pissed on the King's hesitation in receiving Scottish pound-notes when selling flowers at the recent Balmoral fete. The explanation is that recently at least one of the Scottish banks, which have the right to issue their own pound-notes, has changed the pattern more to the Treasury size, but rather like a dollar note in colouring. These and the older Scottish banknotes wore the causes of the King's momentary hesitation as to the denominations of the currency presented to him.
