SCHOOL CONCERT.

A successful school concert was held last night in the Masonic Hall, Cashmere Hills, for the purpose of raising sufficient funds to install central heating in the public school, a sum of £IOO being required. The hall was crowded to the doors, and the whole of the programme was given by the pupils, who had been excellently trained by the teachers, Misses Wauchop and Ridings, and Mr Kidson. The programme comprised action songs, hakas, recitations, dances, and a playlet, entitled "Kobin Hood." The concert will be repeated this evening.

THEATRE ROYAL. "THE CRADLE SNATCHERS." The smart American farce. "The Cradle Snatchers," drew another crowded house to the Theatre Royal last night. The plot concerns a conspiracy on the part of three suspicious wives to brine their respective frivolous husbands to their senses by doing a little philandering themselves. With the assistance of a bright college lad and a little refreshment, they manage their coup very well. Feminine wit rises high above the awkward and clumsy intrigue of man to gain another in the long list of feminine victories. The cast includes Miss Olive Sloane, in the lead, and Misses Bertha Belmore and Jessamine Xewcombe. and these three, as the three wives, are the main cause of all the merriment. The errins husbands are found in Messrs Arthur Cornell, Sidney Stirling, and Herbert Belmore. Fine characterisations are given bv all three The three college men employed bv the wives as assistants in their plotting were Messrs Fred C'onynyham, John Halloram, and Man 17 Tuckerman. Ready to ,r try anythins once,'' they made their parts convincing and interesting. Another member who played »■ small part skilfully was Miss Lucille Lisie.
